The Rock

Saturday, August 28, 2010: The last day of band camp we have a sectional performance to the rest of the band and whoever else wants to join and watch. This picture is of the drumline setting up for practice before the performance later that night. We sang/played Double Beat, Electric Wheelchair, and Sing Sing Sing Drum Solo.

Moving Out.

Friday, August 20, 2010: Today was the last day of my summer internship. After work, we finished up the packing and headed off to IU.

Cymbal Instructional Video

As you all know, I play the cymbals on Indiana University’s Drumline. This year I thought an instructional video would help teach new cymbal players the techniques faster. So, during the clinic earlier this spring, the cymbals recorded all the various techniques and this summer I put together the video. Unfortunately, my summer has been really crazy with my internship, so I couldn’t do everything I wanted with the video. With that in mind, I treated the videos as a rough draft and I hope to redo them later this fall when I have more time.

I finally finished part one of the technique video today, and hope to post the second half later this week.  Let me know what you all think, and if there’s anything that sticks out that has to be changed, please let me know because I’m hoping to fix all the corrections with the final product.

Missing Geocache

Life In A Day

Missing Geocache

One of the parts of the first stage 40 feet up in a tree.

Yesterday was July 24, 2010 and YouTube hosted an event where everyone was invited to document their day and send in their videos. Once all the submissions are in Ridley Scott (director of Gladiator) is going to produce a feature film about the entire day around the world.

Once it started to cool down yesterday we decided to go out and try a 3.5/4.5 Geocache near Hoover Reservoir. We didn’t have much luck with it, but Kyle managed to find 3 out of the 4 parts on the first stage and we got a lot of great shots on film for Life In A Day. We posted some of the shots on my YouTube channel but I have them unlisted because to be honest, there’s nothing really too special about them. They’re unedited shots so the action is really slow. If I find time, I might edit them together and post a live video on LemontTV because some of the shots are really cool. So, to the few who come to this website, here are the links to those videos. Enjoy!

Also, keep an eye out for the final Life In A Day video. It’s supposed to premiere at the 2011 Sundance Festival.

The Introduction

PADSY stands for Picture a day for a School Year. It’s a small project that I’ve been wanting to start up for quite some time. Now that I have a manageable website, I figure this would be the best time to start it up. The main purpose is to capture a school year in a series of daily photos and create an opportunity to look back on it all. It’s pretty straightforward right now, but as with most projects, I anticipate a few changes along the way. If you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know!

Welcome!!

First Post! :)
